The Northern Appalachian Folk Festival, held annually the weekend after Labor Day in Downtown Indiana, showcases the region’s arts and culture with free live music, exhibits, demonstrations, workshops and vendors. The popular Children’s Alley features games and activities geared to younger festival-goers. Musical acts with local and regional ties, representing a variety of genres, play throughout the weekend. Previous headliners include Rusted Root, Dar Williams, Southern Culture on the Skids. Joe Grushecky and the Houserockers and, Si Kahn. Admission to the event, its performances and workshops is free.
