The Maytown Winter Festival is a very new festival, but it is a festival that has arrived with full-heartedness. While quaint in its focus, Winter Festival has a surprising amount of fun to offer. It is not bogged with events and packed schedules. Instead, what the festival does have to offer it does so in zest. Maytown’s inherent beauty and charm is only enhanced by Winter Festival as churches and homes decorate for the occasion. In the evening, everyone gathers for the Grand Illumination of the town Christmas tree. The picturesque atmosphere and leisure pace of this festival is sure to quell even the most harried souls.
Those looking for respite from the cold can stop in at a bakery fashioned special for Winter Festival. Hot beverages and homemade goodies are served all day. Food vendors are set up in the town square but for those with a hearty appetite, don’t pass up on the royal George Tavern, a fanciful old world tavern that serves lunch special for Winter Festival.
Visitors to the Maytown Winter Festival will enjoy street carolers and musicians as they shop in the town square from vendors selling unique handmade wares. A town crier adds a nice Victorian charm and jugglers and magicians entertain all. This festival boasts not one but two jolly old men. The first, a traditional German Santa known as Belschnickel, and a second more familiar Santa Clause will be at Winter Festival. At the end of the day, kick up your tired feet and enjoy a trolley ride through beautiful Maytown
