The annual History Fun Day is an event designed to bring families back to a simpler more honest form of living. This festival is sponsored in part by the Thankful Sage Farm School, a farm whose mission is dedicated to handmade soaps and candles, old good things, heart songs, woodsmoke, and strong girl tools for a well appointed life. With he majesty of historic Bucks County farmland, and informative volunteers consecrated to life of self sufficiency, this is truly a unique experience. So be sure to come on down for one afternoon only, where families can experience life the way was lived 150 years ago.
History Fun Day is held at the historic Tyler state Park and the setting really helps inform the mission. Situated on over a thousand acres of pristine land in the heart of Pennsylvania Farm Country. As such, events encompass the likes of Candle Dipping, and Basket Weaving. Interactive demonstrations like dairy working and kettle cooking allow visitors the opportunity to get up close and personal with historic modes of farm life. For children, there are period games and activities like Beeswax Candle Rolling. There are also informative classes in the learning center and cover such interesting topics as antediluvian farming techniques and canning methods.
Admission is free but there are small fees for certain activities. Parking is on-site.
