By February, most of us are cooped up way too long! If you are tired of being inside and need to get outside for the day, then visit the Bendigo Snow Festival. This festival is held at the beautiful Bendigo State Park which is located in the heart of the PA Wilds. The fresh winter air is bracing, and the scenery is inspiring to say the least. Though small in size, Snow Festival still has plenty to do and does much good for any tired winter soul. A lot of fun is packed into one afternoon, so come early and bring the family to enjoy the best this festival has to offer!
Visitors to Snow Festival can enjoy a wide variety of activities and workshops that are fun and accessible to everyone. Events include sled riding and cross-country skiing. A snow box derby is sure to get everyone cheering. Visitors can take part in hands-on workshops that teach basic techniques of fun winter activities such as snowshoeing and ice-fishing. There are demonstrations of winter survival techniques and visitors can learn the finer points of geo-caching. Local clubs serve cocoa and hot dogs all day.
Admission is free and events are free, but the park reminds people to bring their own gear if they have it and that PA fishing regulations still apply.
