No artificial ingredient here, the Beaver County Maple Syrup Festival is an all natural maple syrup event. Paying homage to the resurging tradition of real Pennsylvania maple syrup, lovers of the sweet stuff flock to this festival to get some of the maple gold while enjoying the splendor of an early spring day. With live entertainment, kids events, displays and demonstrations, and of course plenty of syrup, the Beaver County Maple Syrup will have you floating in syrupy bliss. Going strong since 1978, this annual event draws impressive crowds in the tens of thousands.
The festival holds demonstrations in Maple Syrup making that are both fun and educational. Watch as experts in syrup rendering explain the process that transforms tree sap into waffle topping. Naturally, there is plenty of the syrup on site to buy and take home, but there is no need to wait until the car to break into the natural sweetener. The all-you-can-eat buttermilk and buckwheat pancake breakfast is famous at this festival; oh, and it comes with all the maple syrup you want.
Like the syrup, entertainment is in large supply at the Maple Syrup Festival. Two stages keep busy all day as local musicians, bands and performers enthrall and delight audiences. History buffs will be happy. Civil War re-enactors execute marching drills and set up camp for the day. There is also an antique machinery display. These impressive leviathans of farming and auto are guaranteed to impress. A kid’s tent offers plenty to see and do for the young ones. Dozens of craft vendors are on site, selling homemade and expertly crafted goods.
Admission and parking is free. The festival reminds visitors that dogs are not permitted.
